Donna Dettbarn for Supervisor
Donna Dettbarn, a 38 year resident of University Park served Monee Township for 16 years, beginning as a Township Trustee for 9 years, followed by Supervisor for 7 years.  She is familiar with the needs of the Township.  Donna, a seasoned public official is a former Crete-Monee School Board Member, Hickory School (now Coretta Scott King School) PTO Presidents, UP Women’s Club member, UP Baseball Association Secretary and recently spent 2 years on the UP Police & Fire Commissioner.


She is currently active as a member of the UP Educational Advisory Commission, and is in her 20th year as chairperson of the UP Academic Scholarship Foundation..


Donna is employed by Filtration Group Inc. in Joliet and attended Prairie State College and GSU (Business Administration).  She is married and has three adult children.


David E Deutsche for Hwy Commissioner

David Deutsche,  a 4th gener- ation resident of Monee Township, is a life-long farmer.  David has a long history of volunteering in his community.  He currently serves  as Treasruer of the Will-South  Cook Soil & Water Conservation  District, a commissioner with Black Walnut  Creek Drainage Dist and is an elder at his church, St Luke United Church of Christ.


His great, great grandfather was the first democratic supervisor of
Monee Township.  He & his wife, Rita have one adult daughter, Katrina.


Bobby R. Lathan Sr. for Clerk

 

 Bobby Lathan, a resident of Monee Township since 1972, has previously served as Monee Township Collector and Trustee.


Bobby has been secretary for each the Monee Township Democratic Organization, University Park-Parks and Recreation Committee, and University Public Services and Utilities Committee. He serves as a Monee Township Democratic Precinct Committeeman. He is actively involved and credit with reviving youth baseball in
University Park. In 2003, Bobby was presented the Monee Township Volunteer of the Year Award.


Bobby has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern University in
Baton Rouge, La. After serving in Viet Nam, he was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He is employeed by Hydrite Chemical Co. as a Chemist and serves as head Usher in his church, Pentecostal Church of Christ.


Bobby and his wife, Shirley, reside in
University Park. They have four children and four grandchildren


Bobby’s experience and commitment to service makes him an excellent choice for Monee Township Clerk.


Sandra Heard for Assessor

Sandra Heard, a resident of UP since 1999, is a licensed Real Estate and mortgage profession and a Certified IL Assessing Officer.  She is has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mathematics and has taught mathematics at the college level since 1994.  She has worked over 20 years as a Quality Assurance Analyst and Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE).  She is also the owner and director of Business Group Dynamics, and has developed and conducted training programs and education workshops.


Sandra was recently appointed a Monee Township Trustee and is a member of the league of Women voters of Park Forest Area.  She volunteers and has served the
Village of University Park in an advisory capacity as a member of the Finance Committee for the past 4 years.


Wayne Lambert for Collector

Wayne, a resident of Park Forest, worked for 24 years in station and on board for Amtrak where his duties included revenue collection, budgeting and accounting.  He also has 2 years experience as an IL Licenses real estate sales rep. 


He currently serves as a commissioner of the Park Forest Youth Commission.  As a father, husband and concerned resident of
Monee Township, his goal is to bring the best possible government services of the residents of Monee Township.


James W. Young for Trustee

James and his wife Deborah have been residents of Monee Township for 11 years.  They are proud of parents of 3 children, 2 of which are graduates of Crete-Monee High School.  James is a United State Army veteran who is retired as a First Sergeant after serving over 21 years in various leadership positions on active duty and within the Sate of IL active reserve system.  James is a graduate of Roosevelt University, University of IL and he completed additional graduate courses within the College of Education, Governors State University. 

He is present a middle grade teacher  with
Chicago Heights School District 170 and a

sworn number of the Law Enforcement Profession.  He currently serves and participates on several community committees and organizations to include being Vice President of University Park Library Board of Trustees.


Maurice Brown for Trustee

Maurice, a resident of Monee Township for 13 years, is currently a Senior Engineer with a power utility responsible for supplying power to many of the large buildings in Chicago (such as the Sears Tower). He holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Project management, a Masters in Public Administration and is presently pursing a Doctoral degree in Education.

He has served as an Advance Nuclear Instructor for the National Academic of Nuclear Training.  Prior to his current positions he was worked as a still mill journeyman mechanic, a postal service letter carrier, and an IL union licensed electrician.


Maurice, and his wife Karen, have 1 grandson and 4 children, 3 of which graduated from Crete-Monee High School.

Deborah Burgess for Trustee

Deborah and her husband Bill reside in Monee along with their 2 sons.  Debbie, a secretary and graphic designer for a small sign consulting company, graduated from Robert Morris College in 1998 with an Associates Degree in the medical field.  Debbie is a room mother in her younger son’s school and has been active in her children’s youth football league for several years.


Marcy Marzuki for Trustee

Marcy is a lifelong resident of Monee Township and the Will County portion of  Park Forest. She works as a certified paralegal and is a freelance writer of History Channel documentaries, one of which was even filmed in Monee Township in 2002. She graduated from Crete-Monee High School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University in Arts and Sciences.

 
She continues to volunteer for the
Thorn Creek Nature Center, which was founded by her parents, Jim and Mary Lou Marzuki. During the last election, she was a member of the Obama For America Voter Fraud Task Force, working on targeted counties in Indiana and helped turn that GOP stronghold Blue. She is a member of ActBlue and MoveOn.org and a volunteer for the Park Forest Historical Society’s Historic House Museum.
